"Unlocking the Power of Mushroom Extract: A Beginner's Guide to Usage"

The use of mushroom extracts is on the rise. Every week, we see more and more first time customers, and many are not sure what to expect. This post should help clarify any questions you might have on how to best use our extracts. It may even convince you that gummies are the way to go!

Below you will find a video I made on the best ways to use our extracts, but if you'd rather just read along, I'll summarize what to do and what to expect.

All our extracts consist of one of three things: 100% fruiting body of the mushroom, cane alcohol and water. You will never find any fillers in our extracts, no myceliated grain or oats (those are big no nos on our farm), and no "full spectrum". If you see those words on your mushroom products, run for the hills! You're just likely getting the stuff the mushrooms grow on, not the actual mushroom itself.

The first way you can take the extract is sublingually, that just means under the tongue. You take the dropper like I do in the video below, place it under your tongue, squeeze and that's that. Now I'm not going to lie to you and tell you it tastes like strawberries and bananas, because it doesn't. Jason likes to describe it as earthy alcohol. Luckily though, the taste doesn't take long to disappate and you can take a swig of something to get the taste out of your mouth quickly if it is an issue.

The second, and my own personal favorite, is to put it in something. We usually recommend your morning coffee if you are a coffee drinker. It can be tea, juice, water, flavored water, whatever it is you like to drink. With Lion's Mane specifically, I recommend taking TWO servings (maybe more if you need it) to really get the full effect. The other mushrooms, I find one dosage is sufficient. Not sure what a dose looks like? Check out the video below to find out! Lion's mane is recommended to be taken in the morning as it helps your brain wake up and function. Taken too late in the day, it may have adverse effects if you're trying to fall asleep. We recommend keeping your usage of lion's mane to the first part of the day.

Now if you're the kind of person who doesn't drink coffee or tea in the morning, or you're someone who needs something you can physically take each morning, the gummies might be the answer for you. This is completely anecdotal evidence, but we've found our customers with ADD/ADHD tend to prefer the gummies because they usually can remember to take them more easily than the extract.

When it comes down to it, you have to do what is best for YOU. What are YOU most likely to remember to do each morning - take a gummy or an extract? Only you can decide - but whatever you decide, you won't regret it. Mushroom extracts and mushroom products are blowing up right now for good reason - they are good for you, and they can help you become better. Better physically, better mentally, better emotionally. Just better. #mushlove

Change is mushrooms. Mushrooms are Change.

The first question we ask customers is "Do you like mushrooms?" Raise your hand if we've ever asked you that question. It's not to determine whether or not you're is a potential customer, but it helps
